"Control in Motion is based on the late 19th century invention, the mutoscope, which turns still works into moving imagery.
The work is made of a series of 100 pages of photographic prints, which represent the subtle grades of the quality control strip (used to control the chemical quality in the darkroom or to ensure the accuracy of a studio photograph). These rotate in a constant motion, moving from white to black.
With each rotation, the photographic pages experience a very slight degradation, initially undetectable to the human eye, but noticeable over time." (http://www.clarestrand.co.uk/)
